National Sisters Day 2024

Why we celebrate Sisters Day?

This holiday is celebrated to support the spiritual connection between women, as well as thank sisters. A sister will always understand and support in a difficult situation. She has known you since childhood, and her love and care are priceless. There are not only sisters-by-blood but also ones-by-spirit. After all, the sincere support of a friend is as significant as sisters. Trisha Eleogram founded this day in 1996.

What Do People Do?

On Sisters Day, people spend time with their sisters or close friends. They have fun together, for example, they go to a cafe, shopping, or the cinema. Girls make small surprises and gifts for each other. Brothers also congratulate their sisters. Some cafes treat girls with free desserts. Special promotions are held in entertainment centers and beauty salons so that sisters can spend more time together.

How to Celebrate?

National Sisters Day is celebrated annually on the first Sunday of August. This holiday is popular in many countries. India celebrates a similar holiday called Raksha Bandhan. Congratulate your sister or close friend on the holiday. Give her a call or send her a cute postcard if she’s far away from you. We have prepared some interesting ideas on how to celebrate this day enjoyably.

10 Ideas on how to celebrate the Sisters Day:

  1. Go shopping together. You can pick garments for each other. It will definitely be fun!
  2. After shopping, you can come home and watch funny comedies, such as White Chicks, where two men play sisters. And if you want to watch a movie with your younger sister, then the cartoon Frozen II will be the perfect one. It is especially atmospheric to watch movies and taste delicious food. And here’s the next idea!
  3. Order delicious pizza or your favorite food. You can also cook something together. And if your sister lives far away from you, then you can order pizza at her address. Just pay for the order online in advance. Instead of food, you can also send flowers.
  4. Draw a greeting card with your own, individual design. Glue a photo with a sister there and write a few kind words. This gift will give warn feelings to the sister; she’ll save it for long years.
  5. The next lasting gift is a joint photo shoot! You can hire a photographer to make an album of joint photos for you. Or arrange your own photo session at home. Pick up some fun outfits and capture the moment.
  6. Go to an amusement park and ride steep slides. It will give you an unforgettable experience.
  7. And if you want to spend this day calmly, then go for a joint walk in the park. While strolling along alleys, you can find a beautiful place with a picturesque view to spend the sunset together.
  8. Instead of walking (or as part of it), you can have a picnic in the park. Take delicious food with you and tell each other interesting stories.
  9. Invite your sister to a beauty salon. Give each other a nice day off. You can get the same hairstyles or manicures, and enjoy spa care procedures.
  10. Visit modern exhibitions, museums, or any other events. Share your impressions and keep tickets as a keepsake.

We wish you have a lot of fun together!
