Why we celebrate International Day of Happiness?
International Day of Happiness is a day on which many people try to come together for a common goal. And that goal is to be happy. Humanity has long wondered if it even exists and what it looks like. Although happiness is different for each person, it plays an important role in the life of any one of us. This is why people strive so hard to improve themselves and the world around them.
Not only ordinary people, but also researchers and scientists talk and think about happiness. For example, in 2006, there was such a thing as the International Happiness Index, which reflects the level of well-being of people around the world. The International Day of Happiness was officially established by the General Assembly in 2012. The date was not chosen randomly, as the spring equinox occurs on this day. In this way, the General Assembly highlighted the fact that all people are equal amongst themselves and that everyone has an equal chance of finding their happiness.
What Do People Do?
There are various educational and thematic events on this day related to the theme of happiness. The higher authorities get statistics on the well-being of citizens and try to do everything they can to improve it and reduce poverty in their country. There are also various activities related to the environment. They are aimed at improving the quality of life. Many people dedicate this day to the things they really love and enjoy.
How to Celebrate International Day for Tolerance?
The International Day of Happiness is observed annually on 20 March. On this day, it is recommended that you read philosophical books about happiness or do something you love. Try doing some exercise to improve your morale. And don’t forget to look for happiness in the little things.
