Why we celebrate World Hearing Day?
World Hearing Day is celebrated annually on March 3. The holiday is part of the activities of the World Health Assembly resolution on the prevention of hearing impairment and deafness. On this day, medical institutions urge the public to pay attention to how important it is to take care of the health of the ears.
The ability to perceive sound is an important ability of the human body. Its functioning is feasible even in the absence of hearing, but the life of a person with such a defect becomes more difficult.
Congenital deafness occurs in one in every thousand newborns. Medicine is not yet able to cure total deafness, but it can improve the life of those who suffer from hearing loss. Modern doctors perform various hearing surgeries, implant cochlear implants, and fit hearing aids.
