Why we celebrate Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day?
Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day is celebrated annually on the fourth Thursday of April.The holiday is organized by the Foundation “Take our daughters and sons to work”, encourages parents to take their children to work so that they value what they have. The holiday is celebrated on Thursday, so that children can share their impressions with friends at school on Friday. For the first time this holiday was organized by Gloria Steinem and her foundation in 1993 in order to support girls who were not accepted for certain positions due to age, inexperience and other reasons. Since 2003, boys have also been included in the celebration of the day.
What Do People Do?
To mark Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day, parents recruit their children, little brothers or sisters, nephews and nieces. In this way, the child learns to work. At the workplace, the child is given tasks: carry the paper, put it on the table.
How to Celebrate?
Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day isn’t a day off. All organizations work according to their usual schedule.
