Laylat al Bara\u2019at is a Muslim holiday celebrated at night, which is associated with the descent of God from heaven and the generous forgiveness of sins. Therefore, on this night every year Muslims pray and fast the next day. Lailatul Barat falls in the middle of the month Sha’ban, a month before Ramadan. This night is considered one of the saints in the Islamic calendar. Before Mohammed, the first month of the Islamic calendar was considered a time of non-violence. Now it is celebrated in memory of the beginning of the hijra. At one time, on this night, Muhammad migrated from Mecca to Medina to confess his religion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The night begins at sunset on the 14th and ends at the dawn of the 15th of Shaaban. Muslims are advised to fast for at least six days of this month. Post is held by women, who missed starvation due to menstruation. According to Islamic tradition, the prophet Muhammad fasted in Shaabana more than in any other month. Various Middle Eastern treats and halvah are served on the feast. Neighbors, friends and families get together to sing, dance and have fun.
