Why we celebrate Purim<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Purim is considered a Jewish holiday, celebrated according to the biblical book of Esther in memory of the salvation of the Jews who lived on the territory of the Persian Empire from the extermination of King Ahasuerus. Purim begins with the post of Esther. Festive days are 14 and 15 adar. These days were once appointed days of feasting and fun. The name of the holiday itself comes from the word “pur”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What Do People Do<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

According to the book of Esther, the Jews of Persia destroyed enemies 12 and 13 adar, and 14 – celebrated their victory. If the year is high, another month is added – the second adar. In this case Purim is celebrated in the current months. Date 15 is considered the first adar and is called the small Purim. This day is considered semi-festive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How to Celebrate Purim<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In Purim there is no ban on rest, so the locals go to work. The book of Esther also has no ritual prescriptions for Purim.<\/p>\n\n\n
